Who writes the checklists
Every one of the 263 checks behind the six products on this site was written by Jay R. Prigmore II, Ph.D., P.E.(opens in a new tab, external site), PEFG's principal engineer. His credentials are a Ph.D., Electrical Engineering, Arizona State University, and 12 state professional engineering licenses.
His standards work is the part that matters most to what these products check. He is a:

- Founding Member — NFPA Technical Committee on Electrical Inspection Practices
- Senior Member — IEEE
IEEE 1584 is the guide that governs how incident energy and arc flash boundaries are calculated in the first place; voting membership means a seat in the room where it is written and revised. Before PEFG he led over 400 forensic investigations of electrical fires and equipment failures at Exponent, served as a testifying expert in litigation and arbitration matters exceeding $10 billion in aggregate, and led electrical quality and field reliability engineering for a global hyperscale data center fleet.

What that credential does and does not mean here
It means the checklist your document is read against was written by someone who helps write the standard the document is supposed to follow. It does not mean a Ph.D. or a P.E. read your document. On the automated lane a four-pass software pipeline does the reading; findings then pass through a human queue where each one is approved, edited, or removed before release. Two products also sell an expert lane, and there — and only there — Jay R. Prigmore II, Ph.D., P.E. reads every finding personally before it goes out.
Neither lane is a stamped or sealed engineering deliverable, and neither creates an engineer-client relationship. That distinction is stated on every report cover, not just here.
Where the citations come from
The checklists are original, owner-authored prose describing what to look for. No copyrighted standard text — NFPA, NEC, IEEE — is bundled into this platform, into a prompt, or into any grounding corpus. Section and clause numbers appear only as pointers. Code citations in your report only ever come from a document you uploaded yourself, and where you upload nothing, the review says so rather than citing a section from memory.
